For the third year, we're proud to present the FREE Friday
afternoon lunch time concert series featuring:
- June 15th: Morgan String Band – Five
highly talented string musicians playing original work that has been
described as an eclectic blend of big band, rock’n’roll, and bluegrass.
Complete with mandolin, guitar, bass and fiddle, these local artists are
sure to please!
- June 22nd: Ken Craig Quintet – A
group of professional musicians coming together this year with keyboards,
bass, trumpet, sax and percussion to perform an old school mix of Jazz and
Dixieland music. Their sets include covers from a wide range of musicians
that’s full of surprises!
- June 29th: Mike Kinney’s Jazz Band Ball
– local favorite features some of the finest jazz musicians the area has
to offer!
- July 6th: Pioneros Del Ritmo – One
of the most popular Latin jazz dance bands in Central New York, their
extensive repertoire parallels the old school salsa styles of Tito Puente,
Cal Tjader, Poncho Sanchez and more. The rhythmic excitement, captivating
solos, and the overall electricity they create at each performance is sure
to make everyone move! July Fest weekend!
- July 13th: Osgood, Greitzer, & Simpson
– Lively and family oriented musical performance with instrumentation that
includes hammered dulcimer, fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Fold songs both old
and new will be heard as well as lively jigs, reels, and waltzes and
inspiring airs!
- July 20th: Enerjee Jazz Quartet –
Over the years, they have played in many area groups and have now brought
their unique experiences and talents to the pallet of jazz. The members of
ENERJEE all have extensive experience performing, teaching, recording and
writing music. Their blend is unique and their vibe is hip!
- July 27th: Virgil Cain – Influenced
by artists such as Billy Joel and Elton John, this solo performer has been
recording for over a decade and continues to fascinate audiences. A
life-long passion for music has culminated into a tightly woven,
professionally produced show that will appeal to a wide range of musical
tastes.
- August 3rd: Old Friends – A local
band offering an acoustic folk/rock foundation with many elements of Celtic
and Irish music, country, pop, and rock’n’roll. An afternoon with Old
Friends is sure to offer a pleasing blend of familiar tunes and some you may
not have heard before – including a number of originals. Careful scientific
analysis has determined beyond a reasonable doubt it is impossible NOT to
have a good time when you spend an afternoon with Old Friends.
- August 10th: Panigma Steel Drum Band
– Comprised of professional musicians and educators from Binghamton, NY,
Panigma performs high-energy shows with plenty of audience participation
that keeps listeners engaged throughout the entire performance. The key to
their success is their ability to recreate traditional and popular songs
with Caribbean twist, molding them into music that is guaranteed to have you
dancing in no time.
- August 17th: Monkeys Typing – An
improvisational rock band playing folk and rock music in an ever changing
original style. Popular in many venues in the Binghamton area, the five
members bring over 100 years of playing experience to each musical moment.
- August 24th: The McKrells –
An award winning group of artists performing a fusion of Bluegrass and
Celtic styles to create a unique sound, recognized as the Bluegrass Band of
the Year in 2000 and 2001 by The Northeast Country Music Association
as well as Acoustic Band of the Year 3 years running by Metroland
Magazine. Courthouse Lawn concert - Additional support from Broome
County Chris Thater Memorial Races.
