Our 12th Year! An annual Binghamton favorite – the Rec Park Music Fest! A great afternoon featuring six of the finest groups of musicians the area has to offer. From jazz to bluegrass, from funk to pop, soul and folk, this year’s Rec Park Music Fest features: Miles Ahead, Mike Cadden, Adrianna & Rick Pedro, The Rhythm Gypsies, The O’Neill Brothers (reunion performance – formerly The Susquehanna Hat Company), and The Badweather Blues Band. We’ll have a limited number of chairs set up, or bring your own blankets or lawn chairs. Picnic baskets welcomed, and refreshments will also be for sale. A relaxing day of barefoot dancing and terrific music in a beautiful setting. Yummy treats for the audience donated by SOYJOY.
Crafts: Hands-on Kid’s (of all ages!) Crafts Tent – perfect for making goofy sunglasses.

Minas – Thursday, July 19

The Binghamton Summer Music Festival bring a touch of Rio to Norwich with MINAS - one of the most sought after Brazilian bands in the United States featuring 6 musicians, costumed samba and capoeira dancers! Dance the night away to bossa nova, samba and classic compositions, as well as original works. Samba dance lessons included in the fun, so bring your dancing feet! Capoeira demos will introduce you to this form of martial arts “disguised” as a dance. SMAC (Salsa Music Appreciation Club) will also offer free dance lessons.
Founded in 1979 by husband and wife Orlando Haddad and Patricia King, Minas is built upon the duo's multiple talents as vocalists, instrumentalists and composers. Warm vocal harmonies, and magical blending of guitar, piano, bass, drums, percussion & wind instruments will transport you to another part of the world. Presented as part of the Chenango Blues Association free Summer Concert Series www.chenangobluesfest.org

Re-scheduled after an unexpected winter blizzard! Featuring new & unique works for contemporary chamber percussion by two renowned ensembles of extraordinary musicians: Marassa Duo and Loop 2.4.3. These groups will showcase a wide variety of percussion styles & musical genres, ranging from traditional concert music, world music, mallet percussion, contemporary classical and jazz, as well as plenty of new and exciting sounds, using an extensive collection of world percussion instruments. This electrifying night of music will be one you won’t want to miss! Opening guests: music students from BHS’s Percussion Camp.

A tasty mix of Americana roots rock, rhythm & blues and rock & roll, Professor “Louie” & The Crowmatix have been recording and touring at premier clubs and festivals nationally and internationally. They recorded as Rick Danko’s backing band on his critically acclaimed CD “Times Like These” and were the featured musicians on Garth Hudson’s solo CD “The Sea To The North”.
They have shared stages with The Wailers, Eric Burdon, Johnnie Johnson, Luther Alison, Jimmy Vaughn, Bobby Blue Bland, Bela Fleck, James Cotton, Graham Parker and Rock'n’Roll Hall of Fame artist Garth Hudson from “The Band”.
